GAME TEST: Cube 2: Sauerbraten

Cube 2 is a game without much love of the internet. This game is a game similar to the Quake series and is focusing on the multiplayer. If you haven't heard about it yet, then you should read this.

I still can't figure out why people don't play this game more often. This is the typical Quake game where you get guns and kill lots of enemies.

The game starts of with an kinda normal loading screen and then changes to it's main menu, where you can choose from multiplayer, singleplayer and campaign. I personally didn't play much of the singleplayer game modes, and i couldn't really find the fun in the campaign, but i sure do love the multiplayer.

The options you can choose from, to optimize your gameplay, are huge. You can do all sorts of classic things ,like change resolution or change the volume, but you can also change which particles you want to have in game, and which you won't like to see anymore. I love to set my field of view to the max, because it gives me what i want so badly: Speed.

This game is completely build up for speed. You run, shoot, die, respawn, run, shoot, die, and again. This repeats itself in a very quick paste and you first have to get a bit of control after time goes. Even though i've never heard of this game before, i see that this game doesn't have a dying community. There are lots of big servers and lots of maps and gamemodes to choose from. I personally love "insta ctf" (instant Capture-The-Flag). You get a rifle with unlimited ammo and 1 health. The goal is to capture the enemy's flag and bring it back to your team's flag (which is not really easy if you have 1 health point).
Also cool is the classic gamemode ffa (Free-For-All) where you... basically just kill enemies.

The level builder in this game is really good. You can choose from many different objects, skyboxes, brushes, floors, walls and much more. You can even build together with your friends over multiplayer. Not every game has such an ability.

Just like in similar games, there is a rocket launcher, a grenade launcher, a shotgun, a minigun, a rifle and a pistol, which is all you need to have alot of fun.
The graphics of this game are not really highly polished, even far from that, but it really doesn't bother me, because the speed wouldn't give me much time to look at the map anyway. There is not much to say about this game anymore. It is alot of fun, and alot faster than much games you know.

If you played Quake and you liked it, this title won't hurt you at all. And with the small amount of disk space it takes (600-700mb) you won't even hurt your computer. You also don't need a really good gaming rig to play it. And the best is, it's free to play (without Pay-for-Win). So, what are you waiting for?

I'm giving this game:
8/10 -good

What game should i test next? Will you download Cube 2? What are your thoughts about the game? Tell me in the comments bellow!

Have a nice evening and happy gaming!
